Film Rant Episode 17: Stealing, Cheating, Killing. Who Said Romance Was Dead?

Film Rant Episode 17: Stealing, Cheating, Killing. Who Said Romance Was Dead?

In this month's episode I look back over the month of May and look at some of the most interesting news items to have hit the world of movies.

Then I give you a special round-up of some of the great flicks I saw at this year's FAB Fest Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, with reviews of Yatterman, Reel Zombies and The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle to name just a few.

Next up is My Movie Shame in which I finally visit a film that frankly I should have seen years ago… This month its Dario Argento's Suspiria.

Then we move on to Quid Shop Corner, and for May the bargain basement malarkey comes in the form of Bruce Willis' 1991 flop-a-thon Hudson Hawk.

My monthly rant will this month ask you all to give Lindsay Lohan a second chance (hear me out!) and music as always is provided by the Cloud Sounds podcast.

The Film Rant Episode 17 Tracklist:

The Generalissimos - The Men Behind the Man: Available at Cloudsounds.co.uk on split 7-inch single.

Chips For The Poor - Weather Channel: Single released on Invisible Spies, for more info see: myspace.com/c4tp

Islands Lost At Sea - Luna: From the album 'Are Having a Lovely Time' on Staywarm Records. More info at myspace.com/islandslostatsea.

James Redmond - Sticker Book: From the album 'Too Much To Think', for more info see: myspace.com/jamesleeredmond

Film Rant Episode 16 - Everything Will Change

Film Rant Episode 16 - Everything Will Change

Film Rant is back with a two-hour special to celebrate its new monthly format! In this episode you can expect:

The Month In Film: Where I talk about some of the movies I've been watching over the course of March and discuss a few of the more interesting news stories that have broke. This includes my thoughts on Matthew Vaughn's ode to the comic book movie - Kick Ass.

My Movie Shame: Looking at a film I am ashamed to admit I have never seen, in this episode I attempt to deconstruct George Miller's 1979 dystopian Aussie revenge flick Mad Max and try and decide if it is worthy of its status as a classic.

Quid Shop Corner: Another brand new feature, here I plumb the depths of my local £1 store to discover a lost classic, buying two copies and offering you one for free in exchange for your thoughts! In this episode, the 2002 Stuart Gordon produced Death Bed.

The Rant: Returning to the show is a section that has only ever appeared once before despite it being one of the reasons I set up the 'cast! Here I have a general grumble about something that has been bugging me over the month - this time I'll be tearing Kevin Smith a new one.

Interview: As a special extra, I have included a review of a film from last year that is now available on DVD called The Hide as well as an interview with its director Marek Losey.

All the music featured in the show comes from Cloud Sounds, a fantastic podcast which provides some of the most interesting new music around, check it out on iTunes and at www.cloudsounds.co.uk and follow Ted Harris at www.twitter.com/Cloud_Sounds

Episode 16 tracklist / more information:

What News From Cornwall - Super U from the album We Live In Bazhakstan on Sack the Juggler Records.

http://www.myspace.com/superu

Cheapskate - Science and Love from the album Un Film Imaginnaire (self released).
http://www.myspace.com/jamandbungle
